DESCRIPTION:

For this whole line of costumes for this competition, I wanted all of the costumes to look royal and have all 5 seem as though their related to eachother just as the 5 family members are related through royality itself. There's certain details in every costume which connects every peice with eachother so it tells it's own story through different themes and ideas. I also wanted to keep a "dash" of old traditional Elizabethan influences in these costumes because I love royalty and I loved the Elizabethan time period when every costume worn by royalties were expensive, Haute Couture and luxurious. However...this is costume design, not fashion design so there's also details which distinguish and make it more costumy and literal.

This Snow costume is for a queen and the concept and color scheme represents things very clearly. White and Ice blue became my color scheme because the winter has beautiful white snow coloration over everything in sight and everything gets covered and concealed. The ice blue works for a cartoony perspective of ice and snow flakes. The escalade-flare of the hem on this very large white fur coat adds an elegance to it's durable and heavy-looking appearance. Otherwise it would have looked ugly and matronly. The bow-tie keeps the coat on the shoulders and ties it together elegantly as well and softens the coat up. The coat itself symbolizes the snow "cave" which is the main shell that covers her precious body underneath. After she takes her coat off, the inside of the cave is revealed...and inside the cave is all of the ice, and the intricate formations it usually has. She has a strapless dress with a tight corset, and a whole sheer structure of ice-blue sequins. The sequins cover her chest area, arms and the whole flowing skirt which matches the coats hem. The sequins consist of snow-flake patterns...as well as ice-spiky patterns. To keep the dress related to the coat, it has an elegant fur insert sewn on a low-waisted corset which dangles with hanging embellishments which are seen also on the hem. The whole garment is finished off with a superior crown that is molded and designed to reflect snow-flake pattern.
